Our Story
Leather and craftmanship has been a part of my life, most of my life. I still remember my first ever leather project that I made back in Junior High School, a cowboy belt made with the help of a kit from Tandy Leather, and a patient teacher. I still have the belt, but sadly it no longer fits.
My interest in leather was reinvigorated in 2011 with the help of a very good long-time friend of mine who was buying a new leather holster and was looking at getting into leather making. He ended up staying focused in the shooting world, but I began taking classes at Tandy in Tucker Georgia taught by Chuck Dorsett. After a few projects, I decided I wanted to “go pro” and start a little business making some belts focused on shooters and the conceal carry folks.
I turbo charged my leather craftmanship and knowledge in 2013 after attending an extensive class taught by John Bianchi. John and his team shared decades of leather crafting experience with me. After that training my belts went from good, to really, really good.
I created my first website, selling belts, in late 2013. And I began selling my belts at shows in Georgia and surrounding states in the Southeast. That success was followed up with a great opportunity to sell Churchill Leather belts at the Johns Creek Indoor Gun range in their amazing retail showroom.
My primary goal is quality over quantity, a level of quality that comes with hand crafting a product from scratch.
Another passion of mine is history; Churchill was chosen as my business name because I admire him as a leader, as a driving force in WWII, and as one of the greatest personalities in the 20th century.
Our Materials
All of the materials that are sourced come from amazing suppliers both here in the United States and England. As much as possible materials are purchased from America in order to support our economy. One of our favorite leather suppliers that we have been using since 2013 is Wickett & Craig from Pennsylvania and has been tanning leather since 1867, and a lot of our brass comes from a little foundry in England that has dates back to the 1830’s and carries a Royal Warrant from the Queen of England.
